woman tied to a past love

i´m dealing with unresolved isuues i have followed backwards the traces of my life. symbolic rituals are one way of releasing this past baggage. i have acted out an alejandro jodorowsky´s ritual which promises me the closure of a longstanding fixation. enough is enough.

en-cajada

it is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. it is the one that is the most adaptable to change ..charles darwin.
in spanish encajar means trying to fit in somewhere and en cajada literally means inside a box. i play again with the double meaning and i print my full-sized image on an ikea moving box, considering ikea as a flagship swedish brand.

reflection

looking for a reflection at my own reflection. the word reflection refers when you look at yourself in the mirror you get your image back, your reflection. and at the same time it means thinking hard about something, have an inward-view looking for solutions.

comiendome la cabeza (wracking my brain)

comerse la cabeza it´s an spanish expression that literally means eat your own head people use it when they over-think. this happens when you keep trying to figure out something going in circles. it is a frustating temporal impasse that unfortunately you cannot avoid. i will say it´s the step just before getting obsessive about a thought. stop doing it!

13th try

this installation is my 13th try learning to use movement sensors. while the viewer approaches to the light, some subtle sounds start to play like steps or breathing, giving out a hint about what is happening behind those boxes.

a non-place (non lieu)

the gardunya square project; it´s a place called "square" that actually works as a parking lot, behind a very important turistic market (la boqueria) at the ramblas avenue, barcelona. we propose an intervention on the roof, with boxes taken of the market. creating a design and lighting up the place at night, to re-define the space.

barri tv

the barri tv project; we choosed the raval neighbourhood, cause is the most multicultural therefore, it captures better the actual real life of the city. we create a tv station for the people made for themself. with 25 minutes programs, broadcasted on screens (installed on the walls) at a special time of the day .
